Medical students, makers, neighbors

EcoPrint3D

3D printing with purpose

We print assistive devices for local families and give them away free. A device that runs thousands of dollars commercially costs us a couple hundred in plastic, and showing what that means for medicine is the whole point.

We are the MakeGood ambassador chapter for DC, Philadelphia, Maryland, and Virginia, and we build through e-NABLE.

The first of many

Twenty four print plates, one very happy homecoming

Our first Toddler Mobility Trainer went home with Sibby. Read how the build came together, and meet the family it belongs to.

What we do

Three ways we put a printer to work

Recycling is where we began. Education is how the work outlives us. Assistive devices are where it lands in someone's hands.

Recycle

A second life for plastic

We run local cleanups and keep plastic moving out of the waste stream. It is where EcoPrint started, and it still shapes how we choose and handle material.

Teach

Pass the possibility on

Hands on printing sessions help students turn curiosity into something they can hold, so the people designing a part today are the ones improving the device years from now.

Made for someone

Toddler Mobility Trainers through MakeGood, grip and daily living aids, and upper limb devices through e-NABLE. Printed in PETG, PLA, and TPU, fitted to the person, delivered at no cost.

What is a TMT

How we got here

It started small, it did not stay there

A little over three years ago EcoPrint was one printer in a bedroom and one question about where plastic goes after we throw it out. Recycling came first. Teaching came next. When we started medical school, the work became personal, and assistive devices followed.

A community that shows up when we ask for help

We share these numbers because reach is practical. It is how families learn a free device exists, and how new makers decide to join.

Why we do this

Our community, our reason

We built the reach as undergraduates. As medical students, we would rather it work for the families around us than for the feed.

What does a family pay?

Nothing. Not one dollar, ever.

Who builds them?

We do, alongside a full medical school load.

Is my child eligible?

A MakeGood sizing chart tells us before we build.

Why medical students?

Because we can help our community now, not later.

Every device starts with filament

Our hours are volunteered and every design file is free to download. What we buy is plastic, hardware, and shipping. Support EcoPrint and help fund the next build.
