What is a TMT?
A Toddler Mobility Trainer (TMT) is a specialized
3D printed mobility device built to help young children develop the
strength, balance, and confidence they need to move independently.
Unlike traditional walkers or wheelchairs, it is designed specifically
for children ages 1 to 8 living with conditions like cerebral palsy,
developmental delays, spina bifida, or other mobility challenges. It
encourages active movement while giving children the support they need
to explore their world safely.
Adjustable to fit many kids
Generally fits children ages 1 to 8. Consult your healthcare
professional to confirm the right fit.

Cerebral palsy
Children with CP often experience muscle stiffness, impaired
coordination, and difficulty initiating voluntary movement.
The TMT provides a stable support structure that encourages
active stepping and weight bearing, helping build motor pathways
during critical early development.
Spina bifida
Depending on severity, children with spina bifida may have limited
or absent function in their lower limbs. The TMT supports the trunk
and pelvis while allowing upper body guided movement, giving
children the independence to explore their environment on their
own terms.
Developmental delays
Children with generalized developmental delays often reach motor
milestones later than peers. Early supported mobility has been
shown to improve cognitive engagement, social interaction, and
self-directed behavior. The TMT offers a low-barrier way to
encourage that first independent step.
Muscle weakness
Whether from hypotonia, muscular dystrophy, or other neuromuscular
conditions, low muscle tone can prevent children from achieving
upright mobility. The TMT offloads some of the postural demand
while still encouraging active engagement from the child's own
muscles during movement.
Balance disorders
Children who struggle with vestibular processing or proprioception
often fall frequently and develop a fear of walking. The wide,
stable base and harness support remove the fear of falling,
allowing children to build balance confidence through repeated,
safe movement experiences.
Down syndrome
Children with Down syndrome typically have lower muscle tone and
take longer to develop the strength and coordination needed for
walking. The TMT helps bridge the gap between supported standing
and independent walking, offering the right amount of assistance
without over-correcting natural movement patterns.
